Event: SCL Screening "The Shipping News" with Christopher Young

This exciting seminar begins with a full-length screening of the composer's latest film THE SHIPPING NEWS, made available by Miramax Films. Following the screening, Young will discuss his score for the film, which features traditional Celtic music.

THE SHIPPING NEWS stars Kevin Spacey, Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench. It is directed by Lasse Hallstrom, written by Robert Nelson Jacobs, and adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by E. Annie Proulx. The story is of the redemption of a man, raised in the barren area of Newfoundland, who returns to his roots in order to find himself.

Afterwards, stay for a wonderful reception in honor of this prolific composer!
