THE SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS & LYRICISTS (SCL) is the primary organization for professional film, television, video game, and musical theatre composers and lyricists with a distinguished 76-year history in the fine art of creating music for visual media.

Today, SCL members enjoy the camaraderie of composers and lyricists at diverse stages of their careers. Students and patron sponsors supportive of our professional work are also welcomed. In addition to our advocacy efforts on behalf of our profession, we foster a sense of community among our members by providing information on a variety of subjects, including the creative, financial, technical, and contractual aspects of writing music for film, television, video games and theatre.

The SCL actively strives for improvements in the workplace and working conditions of the musically creative, through an ongoing dialogue with experienced and acknowledged leaders of the global composer and songwriter community.

All paid memberships are annual and auto-renew by default; auto-renewal may be deactivated at any time, and a member may choose to upgrade membership levels from the Manage Account  page, at prorated rates.

Whether you are a professional composer or songwriter, or simply have aspirations in that direction, we invite you to consider membership with the Society of Composers & Lyricists. Our various membership offerings are detailed below.
