YOU CAN MAKE IT (MUSIC) HERE....

In the last several decades, composers and musicians have faced shrinking music budgets, increased pressure for buyout contracts, and insistence from producers that work be taken overseas. Recording studios in New York have been forced to close, and some of the world’s greatest musicians have found their jobs outsourced.

Is the future more of the same, or are there ways to reinvigorate the scoring and recording industry in New York? What can we do to inform producers about the advantages of keeping work in our state? What options exists for recording under a union contract, and what are the nuts and bolts of setting up such a deal?
