ADAM GUETTEL - CREATIVE PROCESS 

MONDAY, DECEMBER 12th, 2011

The Frederick Loewe Theater at NYU, New York, NY

A very special event featured one of the brightest and most original composers working in Musical Theatre today.  Mr. Guettel composed The Light In The Piazza, for which he won two Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Orchestrations, as well as two Drama Desk Awards for Best Music and Best Orchestrations. Other works include Floyd Collins, Loves’s Fire, and Saturn Returns/Myths and Hymns.  Mr. Guettel discussed his writing process and performd selections from his current projects.  A rare opportunity to get to know the composer, whose work Stephen Sondheim referred to as “dazzling.”  Moderated by SCL Member, Chris Hajian.
