SCL Composer Member Leah Curtis Receives Australian Screen Music and Multiple HMMA Nominations

Composer Leah Curtis has been nominated for Best Original Song Composed for the Screen at the Australian Screen Music Awards.  

Presented by the Australian Performing Rights Association in conjunction with the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC), the annual Screen Music Awards acknowledge excellence and innovation in the field of screen composition. Panels of highly respected Australian film and television composers determine four nominees across 10 categories. The 2012 Screen Awards will be held in Melbourne, Australia on November 19th 2012. Curtis has also been nominated for two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMAs) for Best Original Song (Visual Media - Independent, Documentary or Short) and Best World Song. The HMMAs will be held in Los Angeles November 15 2012. More information on the nominations can be found here.

The nominated song is the featured track from the film Exitus Roma, a historical drama directed by Fawaz Al-Matrouk. The score and song feature vocalist Lisbeth Scott, multi-instrumentalist Chris Bleth, violinist Savannah Jo Lack and trebles from St Paul's Cathedral Choristers.  You can hear the nominated score at
