Synopsis

In 1979 Santa Barbara, Dorothea Fields is a determined single mother in her mid-50s who is raising her adolescent son, Jamie, at a moment brimming with cultural change and rebellion. Dorothea enlists the help of two younger women - Abbie, a free-spirited punk artist living as a boarder in the Fields' home and Julie, a savvy and provocative teenage neighbor - to help with Jamie's upbringing.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: 20TH CENTURY WOMEN w/Roger Neill - Roger Neill Composer Roger Neill is a Harvard doctorate whose award-winning music catalog spans hundreds of television episodes, TV commercials, games, more than 20 major motion pictures and even an operetta. 

For the Amazon Studios series Mozart in the Jungle, Roger acted as composer, music producer and consultant. In 2016 MITJ won two Golden Globes and an Emmy, including the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series. Amazon recently released the soundtrack album for Mozart in the Jungle, which features Roger’s orchestral arrangement of Phoenix‘s “Lisztomania,” the series’ main title.

Roger’s recent feature films include Mike Birbiglia’s critically acclaimed Don’t Think Twice, which premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, and Mike Mill’s 20th Century Woman, which premiered as the Centerpiece of the 2106 New York Film Festival. Other features include the documentary The Killer Within, featuring the renowned Kronos String Quartet, and Sofia Coppola’s kaleidoscopic “Marie-Antoinette.” "20th Century Women" is Roger Neill's second feature collaboration with Mike Mills, after the 2010 Academy Award winning film "Beginners."
