Join Award-winning composer Richard Marvin who will discuss and demonstrate his workflow for the current NBC series “Grimm”, as well as National Geographic's Emmy winning documentary series, "Years of Living Dangerously". Special attention will be given to how Digital Performer 9 and other MOTU products are at the center of his creative process.

Matt LaPoint from MOTU will provide a guided tour of Digital Performer 9, an award-winning, cross-platform digital audio workstation. The seminar will focus on production workflows for composing, recording, and delivering broadcast-ready music and sound for picture.  Get a first-hand tour of the latest features in DP 9.02 and a preview of the upcoming DP 9.1, including exciting performance enhancements for hosting virtual instruments.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Digital Performer 9: Workflows for Today's Composer - Rick Marvin Rick Marvin  Rick’s versatile experience as an A-list synthesist/keyboardist in the studios of Hollywood in the '80's and '90's has been the foundation of his successful composing career, scoring such diverse projects including: "3 Ninjas", "Six Feet Under", "In Treatment", "U-571", "The O.C.", "Without A Trace", "Surrogates", and "Grimm." Based in Los Angeles, Rick is now one of the most in-demand composers for TV and film.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Digital Performer 9: Workflows for Today's Composer - Matt LaPoint Matt LaPoint   Matt LaPoint works in Los Angeles in the fields of recording technology, music production, and education, and is the West Coast Representative for MOTU. As a recording engineer, Matt works on a wide range of projects from score mixes to full album productions. He teaches sound design in the film department at Art Center College of Design and works as a freelance studio consultant. Matt draws on his background as a composer and musician in all facets of his work.
