The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: An Evening with the Composers of FX - Mychael DannaJeff Russo

EMMY and GRAMMY-nominated musician Jeff Russo has become a prominent composer, songwriter and arranger in the film and television industry. Jeff composed the music for FX's Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, "Fargo," for which he received an Emmy nomination. He has since scored the second season of the series, and is currently working on the third season, as well as Starz's original drama "Power," from executive producer Curtis "50 Cent” Jackson.  He recently composed the music for Spike’s “Tut,” starring Ben Kingsley, and also collaborated with Zoe Keating on both WGN’s “Manhattan” and A&E Network's "The Returned.”  Russo is also composing for the upcoming HBO mini-series, “The Night Of,” starring John Turturro, ABC’s “Time After Time,” from creator Kevin Williamson, CBS’s newest Steven Spielberg series “American Gothic,” SyFy’s anthology series, “Channel Zero" and Noah Hawley’s highly anticipated X-Men adaptation, FX Productions and Marvel Television's “Legion.”

In addition to composing music for film and television, Jeff still plays music with his rock band. He is a founding member, lead guitarist and co-songwriter of two-time GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum selling rock band, TONIC.
The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: An Evening with the Composers of FX - Mac Quayle Mac Quayle

Audiences worldwide have been captivated by the unique musical stylings of EMMY and GRAMMY nominated composer, Mac Quayle. Mac’s music was most recently heard in FX’s record-breaking “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” starring John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson, which was celebrated by critics and audiences alike.  Mac received his first EMMY nomination for FX’s hit series, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” starring Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. Quayle has written music for over 40 films and television shows, and has accumulated a long list of credits as a music producer, dance re-mixer and multi-instrumentalist.  As a composer, Mac’s haunting music provided the signature sound for “American Horror Story: Hotel,” starring Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer, as well as Fox’s “Scream Queens,” starring Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis.  Mac also scored the music to USA Network’s Golden Globe-winning suspense-thriller “Mr. Robot,” starring Christian Slater and Rami Malek.

Mac’s music as an additional composer for Cliff Martinez can also be heard in HBO’s EMMY-winning “The Normal Heart,” Film District’s Critic’s Choice Award-winning “Drive,” Warner Bros.’ “Contagion” and A24’s “Spring Breakers.”  In 2013, Mac was chosen as one of only six composers to participate in Sundance’s Music and Sound Design Lab at Skywalker Ranch.
