THE SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS and SESAC Presents A SPECIAL EVENT with CHRISTOPHE BECK and AUDREY WELLS featuring a screening of UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN

The Society of Composers & Lyricists and SESAC invites each member plus one guest to attend an exciting evening on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, beginning with a full-length screening of "Under The Tuscan Sun" followed by the film's composer Christophe Beck and screenwriter/director/producer Audrey Wells discussing the film, plus a question & answer.

The screening will be at the FRANK G. WELLS THEATRE on the WALT DISNEY STUDIOS LOT*

Film composer Christophe Beck has reunited with screenwriter/director/producer Audrey Wells for Touchstone Pictures' "Under The Tuscan Sun." Beck previously worked with Wells on her feature "Guinevere." In a short time span, composer Christophe Beck has scored numerous films in virtually every genre. His talent is evident in a wide-range of features spanning from the teen comedy "Bring It On" to the film noir "Confidence." Beck's credits this year alone include "Just Married," "The Event," "American Wedding" and "Dickie Roberts." The Montreal native is a graduate of Yale ('92) and USC's film scoring program. He originally began scoring for television with such successes as "Buffy" for which he won an Emmy.

Writer, director and producer Audrey Wells had her first breakthrough as the screenwriter and executive producer of Michael Lehmann's "The Truth About Cats and Dogs." Wells stepped behind the camera to make her feature directorial debut with "Guinevere," which she also wrote. The film was a hit on the independent circuit, with the writer/director earning the Sundance Festival's Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award for her script. Wells also penned the scripts for "Disney's The Kid" and "George of the Jungle."

"Under The Tuscan Sun" is loosely based on Frances Mayes' popular memoir of the same name. Directed and adapted by Audrey Wells, the film stars Diane Lane, Sandra Oh and Raoul Bova. Lane plays Frances Mayes, a San Francisco writer whose perfect life has just taken an unexpected detour. Her recent divorce has left her with writer's block and depressed. She decides to start fresh and buys a villa in the Tuscan countryside. "Under The Tuscan Sun" is rated PG-13 and runs 113 minutes.
