Event: SCL Screening "Focus" with Mark Adler

The SCL invites each member and a guest to attend an exciting seminar beginning with a full-length screening of the composer's latest film, Focus, made available by Paramount Classics. Following the screening, Adler will discuss his score for the film, which features a powerful mélange of sounds.

"Focus" stars William H. Macy and Laura Dern. "Focus" marks the directorial debut of award-winning photographer Neal Slavin. It is adapted from the novel by legendary playwright Arthur Miller. Set in 1940's New York, "Focus" recounts the unraveling of an American community when the identity of a man and his wife are mistaken. Suddenly the victims of persecution, they find themselves aligned with a local immigrant in a struggle for dignity and survival.
