Peter Boyer appointed Pasadena Symphony Composer-in-Residence

SCL member Peter Boyer has been appointed Composer-in-Residence of the Pasadena Symphony for the 2012-13 season. The centerpiece of his residency will be the premiere of his Symphony No. 1, commissioned by the Pasadena Symphony to close its 85th anniversary season. Boyer is currently composing this new work, and he will conduct its premiere on April 27, 2013 at Ambassador Auditorium.

As part of his residency, the Pasadena Symphony will also perform two additional works by Boyer: "Festivities," which was recently commissioned and premiered by conductor Gerard Schwarz for the Eastern Music Festival, and "Apollo" from "Three Olympians" for string orchestra.
