Carl St.Clair conducts Peter Boyer's "Festivities" in Fort Worth

Conductor Carl St.Clair, Music Director of the Pacific Symphony, recently led three performances of SCL member Peter Boyer's "Festivities" with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at Bass Performance Hall, with the composer in attendance.

Boyer previously served as Composer-in-Residence of the FWSO for the 2010-11 season. In the current 2012-13 season, the FWSO celebrates its centennial, and Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya invited each of its six former composers-in-residence to return with a new work as part of this celebration. St.Clair, who served as guest conductor, had previously commissioned Boyer's work "On Music's Wings" to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pacific Symphony.

In reviewing the performance, Olin Chism of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram wrote: "Boyer has a gift for melody as well as a knack for generating excitement with a large orchestra, and the combination is a winner."er."
