The USC Thornton School of Music invites you to celebrate Buddy Baker’s legacy as the USC Scoring program’s director for more than 15 years and as the composer of the Disney sound (Mickey Mouse Club, The Wonderful World of Color, and the Disneyland underscore).

The concert will feature some of Buddy’s dearest friends and collaborators sharing songs, stories and memories, and will include two world premieres dedicated to Buddy by legendary drummer Louis Bellson and award-winning composer Joe Harnell. The program also will feature Richard Sherman (It’s a Small World, Winnie the Pooh) performing his classic Disney songs, as well as film clips from Buddy’s vast catalogue. Immediately following the concert, guests are invited to the new Buddy Baker Exhibit and a reception in the Alfred Newman Recital Hall.

In his honor, the Thornton School has launched the Buddy Baker Memorial Fund in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television. The Thornton School invites you to consider a contribution in Buddy’s memory as a tribute to his lifetime achievements in music and his dedication to equipping others to successfully pursue their musical aspirations. A tax-deductible contribution may be payable to the USC Thornton School of Music and mailed to: The Buddy Baker Memorial Fund, USC Thornton School of Music, Los Angeles, California 90089-0851. Contributions of any amount are deeply appreciated. Contributions of $100 or more will be recognized in the Tribute Program; contributions of $1000 or more will receive a commemorative DVD.
